DOWNSIDE x DOWNSIZE

The family I work for lives in a 5-storey house and a DOWNSIDE of it is that the family members often play hide-and-seek with each other and use intercom to wish each other nighty night.

My employer:" Where is my wife?"
Monika: "She's either in her study or in the master bedroom. We should probably DOWNSIDE." :o)

DOWNSIDE is a negative aspect of something = the house is too big for us
DOWNSIZE=move from bigger house/flat to smaller house/flat

a TAD too overplucked eyebrow

My employer had her eyebrows tamed at home yesterday and asked me if I would like to have mine threaded as well:o) and wouldn't take no for an answer:o).

I lay down on the couch and a threading lady briefly examined the shape of my brows and uttered:
"Your left brow is a TAD too overplucked."

TAD
Cambridge dict.:
-a little, slightly
-ex.:The fish was OK, but the chips were a tad greasy

(a TAD too overplucked eyebrow

TAD=trochu (neformální synonymum pro a little, slightly)

"I BOUGHT IT FOR A SONG." X "It COST ME AN ARM AND A LEG."

How much money do you spend on fruit weekly? I used to spend twice or three times as much money when I used to buy it in Waitrose = it COST ME AN ARM AND A LEG. NOT anymore!

I started going to the local fruit and vegetable market on North End Road in London and all this(picture below) cost me unbelievable 5 pounds:o) No need to haggle.

If you BUY SOMETHING FOR A SONG, it means that you pay very little.

MAN UP!!!
You are sitting in a waiting room of your dentist and listening to the drill and screaming of one of the patients. You are trembling in fear and almost about to escape....MAN UP!
Your makeup is done, you look fabulous in your wedding dress and your man is waiting for you to walk down the aisle and you start freaking out and doubt that he is the one....MAN UP!
What are you trying to avoid or escape from?

MAN UP
Cambridge dict.:
-used to tell someone that they should deal with something more bravely
-ex.:You need to man up and go get want you want.
